she blames design

She’s pushing down the goose bumps, in hopes of something more then a chill
While screaming stand and deliver, robbing all emotions she can’t kill
As dirty minds, camouflage the lines, swerving back and forth for the thrill
But with a little time, we see the dead end signs and double down on suicide pills

She swears she’s blind, but I know she just closed her eyes
She’s scared of light, she’s scared of living anywhere but inside
She swears she’s blind, but we all know she just closed her eyes
She keeps her eyes sewn shut, yeah she lives on the inside

She blames her hollow sockets on the design, blind to what she claims to hide
As eyes take cat naps behind black shades, thick enough to support her lies
She swears they’ve been shut down, sewn inside and left for the lord of the flies
But if I had more time, I’d pry open the eyes and show her “the beast” lives in her mind

She swears she’s blind, but I know she just closed her eyes
She’s scared of light, she’s scared of living anywhere but inside
She swears she’s blind, but we all know she just closed her eyes
She keeps her eyes sewn shut, yeah she lives on the inside

She’s killing time just to create a life, put backwards fiction into the dream
Staring deep into the looking glass, for the game of chess in-between
But as the match wears on, no pawns are found, only bloody red queens
Just to wake and blame the cat in black, for being to overtly seen

She swears she’s blind, but I know she just closed her eyes
She’s scared of light, she’s scared of living anywhere but inside
She swears she’s blind, but we all know she just closed her eyes
She keeps her eyes sewn shut, yeah she lives on the inside

She’s sleeping now in silence, she’s sleeping, can you see?
She’s sleeping now, let her lie, let her lie and be seen
She’s sleeping now in silence; she lies thick at the bottom of the sea
She’s sleeping now, let her lie, let her die and be seen
