She put her burnt hands, behind her heavy head
Said I surrender, have nothing left to give
The white flag it danced, it made those eyes shine
And just as soon as she ran, she found arms to climb
The embrace did her good, it even erased
Gave back what he took, lifted the face
But as she exposed her hands, back from her head
She found in those hands, nothing left to give
Sure you can run and hide
But where will you go when you’re tired
Love is a one way street
And you’re headed the wrong way
He put his gasoline hands, to his hollow head
Said I don’t remember letting this love in
But now that she’s gone, it’s all his eyes see
All the blame that he gave, was caused by his greed
From closing his heart, so long ago
In hopes of forgetting all the pain he once showed
Too scared to feel love and have it ripped away
So when he found it again, he never bothered to change
Sure you can run and hide
But where will you go when you’re tired
Love is a one way street
And you’re headed the wrong way
Now in the end it would seem
They both shard the same distant dream
It was only the timing that kept them apart
He gave into love and she just gave out
It was only a matter of time
She’d give up on a love that was dying
So now he lives with the ghost of what their love could’ve been
As she dances on their grave never to trust his love again
Sure you can run and hide
But where will you go when you’re tired
Love is a one way street
And you’re headed the wrong way
