silent nova

I picture words around your face
But can't seem to speak when the light hits
I'm lost on this planet of apes
And can't seem to find my silent Nova

Twisted in this wreckage, going nowhere, we've finally done it
Twisted in this wreckage, we're nothing
You damn dirty apes have finally done us in

Beneath a crust turned to ash
I search for records of its past
Finding only hatred lasts
The will to kill what's not in our path

Twisted in this wreckage, going nowhere, we've finally done it
Twisted in this wreckage, we're nothing
You damn dirty apes have finally done us in

You can lock me in your cages
This bodies a shell which has no hold
Live an entire lifetime with no ages
Hunted down like milestones

Twisted in this wreckage, going nowhere, we've finally done it
Twisted in this wreckage, we're nothing
You damn dirty apes have finally done us in

What's civilized behind these eyes
Still haven't found any answer
But still beauty lives in the disguise
Of the illusion of what comes after

Twisted in this wreckage, going nowhere, we've finally done it
Twisted in this wreckage, we're nothing
You damn dirty apes have finally done us in

classical mechanics

We live and die like a car crash
Violently fighting to keep this vehicle in motion
As inertia brings our journey to an end
We quickly scramble to buckle up in time
But the action is in motion and will not rest
Ejected from seats, feed to worms, feed to birds in a nest

This is our first law of motion
We move till we cease to be
The force it lives in you and me

The momentum was too great to slow in time
Mass only carried us further along
Velocity pushed us far beyond the finish line
Endless endeavor to preserve our present state
But ours are not the only bodies in motion
And the resistance never takes a break

This is our first law of motion
We move till we cease to be
The force it lives in you and me

If only Aristotle had it right
Without an external motive power we can rest
But the absence only wakes the heart inside the hollow chest
Loneliness renews impetus to replace the taste of longing lips
An equal action to forget the accident
That spun us off this narrow cliff
