death's cobra snake

Behind closed eyes I dream of a love heaven sent
And watch as death’s cobra eyes awake to find her neck
She knows not why, she knows not how, but she gives him tenderness
And with fangs like ice he injects the pain of a love so poisonous

Bite gives way to kiss
Teeth devour lips
She invites pain, inside
Blood it falls and drips
Life aboard death’s ship
She invites pain, inside

Tears flow red like wine from the heart she can’t resist
As venom courses through her mind leaving only hollow bliss
What she can’t see, is that this union can’t be, doomed like Pluto to never exist
As pain sits still and love orbits around a heart that can’t forget

Bite gives way to kiss
Teeth devour lips
She invites pain, inside
Blood it falls and drips
Life aboard death’s ship
She invites pain, inside

When I awoke I cleared my eyes but I couldn’t clear my mind
Of the girl who made love to death’s cobra snake and lost him inside
I watched her beg, I watched her shake, I watched her die for pains embrace
And with one last sin I watched love win, as their hearts become one, thus ending the chase

Bite gives way to kiss
Teeth devour lips
She invites pain, inside
Blood it falls and drips
Life aboard death’s ship
She invites pain, inside
